Information Technology Summer Internship


Overview: Participates in the IT rotation program to include the delivery or participation in the delivery of, customer-driven solutions in one or more of the following Technology areas: Software development; enterprise applications, databases; networking & telecommunications; information security; education and communications; mainframe; distributed systems (Windows, UNIX, etc.); storage (SAN, NAS, etc.); middleware; messaging; enterprise service management (ITIL); enterprise architecture; project management; engineering/customer business unit.

Qualifications: Veteran with entry level competency (0-2 years professional experience) in at least one computer technology, including the installation, configuration and/or management, operation or development of: Windows, *NIX or mainframe operating systems; client-server, web, or mainframe application or software development; databases; client-server, web or mainframe hardware or software; network or telecommunications hardware or software; information security; firmware development; device testing.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms. Knowledge of project management techniques and methodologies. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills. Ability to operate as part of a team organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from the envisioning stage through implementation. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well on cross-functional project teams and foster team commitment to tasks. For datacenter and field environments: Ability to work with another to lift 40 lbs several times per week. For most other duties; ability to sit for 2 hours at a time in a professional office environment.
