Overview: This project is developing two shroud concepts to suppress Doppler-filtered radar cross-section (RCS) of wind turbine rotors. The first is a shroud with an extent of 1 to 1.5 times the rotor radius to block radar line of sight to the portion of the blades above a critical speed. RF mesh or radar absorbing material (RAM) lines the plenum dividing the shroud cylinder. The second approach considers a shorter shroud that has RF mesh across the entrance and exit.

Responsibilities: Build computer models of radar systems and targets. Run various scenarios using commercial software.
