Overview: Develop a waste heat recovery that operates on a Brayton cycle utilizing CO2 as the working medium. Improve the efficiency of the Brayton cycle by using Printed Circuit Heat Exchangers for the heat waste recovery unit and possible recuperator. Identification of parameters to optimize the thermal cycle. A practical system will show how CO2 systems can be scaled based on the waste heat energy available.
Intern Responsibilities: Commissioning of the newly refurbished gas turbine engine, assist in the development of the new data acquisition system that is MatLab based to measure the temperatures and pressures within the engine.
